Description
Step into the chicken yard and meet our lively flock of laying hens, bantams, turkeys and quail!
Children will learn how to
- care for chickens—feeding, watering, cleaning coops, and gathering eggs
- discover the differences between breeds and species
- we’ll talk about why roosters aren’t always necessary
- caring and storing eggs
Students will get to hold a chicken (if they want to!) and help collect eggs. The day will include a take home craft and feeding the chickens treats. And as always, enjoy meeting all the farm animals at the end of class.
There will be two groups going on simultaneously. One group will serve 4-7 year olds and the other group will serve 8-12 year olds. Once you are registered you will receive a welcome email. Please reply to that email with the ages of your children so that we can place them in the right group.
We meet from 9-11am in Anthony, NM. Address sent out after purchase. Closed toed shoes are required.
