A good gate keeps your animals in, the critters out, and your homestead running smoothly. In this hands-on class, we’ll walk you through building a simple personnel gate from start to finish—using what we already have on hand.

You’ll learn how to:

• Measure and plan for a sturdy gate

• Select and prepare scrap lumber for reuse

• Cut, assemble, and reinforce the frame

• Properly hang and secure the gate

We’ll work together to build and install a functioning gate right here on the farm, proving you don’t need to buy expensive materials to make something strong and reliable. By the end, you’ll have the know-how to build your own gates with confidence—and maybe a new appreciation for resourceful homesteading.

Note: Closed-toe shoes required. All tools and materials provided.
