In this class, families will learn:

  • How soil works and how to improve it naturally

  • Compost basics and using kitchen/farm waste well

  • How to plan a garden that fits your land, climate, and your family’s needs

  • How to read seed packets and create planting schedules

  • When and how to start seeds (indoors and outdoors)

  • Basics of watering, mulching, and protecting plants from pests

Hands-On Project (example):

  • Planting a garden bed or container

  • Starting seeds to take home

  • Garden planning pages

  • Monthly planting calendars

  • Soil improvement strategies

  • Seed starting log

  • Garden bed layout templates
