Description

Step into the chicken yard and meet our lively flock of laying hens, bantams, and even turkeys!

Children will learn how to

  • care for chickens—feeding, watering, cleaning coops, and gathering eggs
  • discover the differences between breeds and species
  • we’ll talk about why roosters aren’t always necessary
  • care and store for eggs

Students will get to hold a chicken (if they want to!) and help collect eggs. The day will include a take home craft and feeding the chickens treats. And as always, enjoy meeting all the farm animals at the end of class.

Closed toed shoes are required.
