Description
Get ready for a fun and interactive morning learning all about goats! During Goat Day, students will meet our friendly herd of dairy goats and discover what makes these animals such an important part of homestead life. Children will learn about goat breeds, behavior, and temperament, as well as how we keep our goats healthy through proper diet, grooming, and hoof care.
Students will observe and participate in hands-on tasks such as brushing, feeding, milking, and simple handling techniques. We’ll talk about how to read goat body language, what to look for in a healthy goat, and how farmers care for newborn kids. Hopefully we will have new babies in February!
After goat time, students will enjoy visiting the rest of the animals around the farm, making this day a rich blend of education, confidence-building, and unforgettable farm experiences.
Closed toed shoes are required.
